              Léah Hendriks

Léah Hendriks teaches yoga from a movement-oriented approach inspired by Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Léah began practicing yoga in 1994. In 2003, after completing a Masters of Arts Degree in Film Studies, she brought yoga to the forefront in her life by enrolling in a yoga teacher-training course. In 2005 Léah completed an extensive Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training program with additional teacher training in the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. Léah continues to deepen her studies in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga through her personal practice and working with teachers Mark and Shankara Darby. She has most recently been inspired through workshops with Richard Freeman and John Friend.

Léah enjoys teaching students of all levels, but particularly enjoys beginners and those new to yoga. She is also greatly interested in working with athletes teaching body awareness, breathing and movement techniques that will help to prevent injuries and improve performance in their sport.

Over the years she has developed a concentrated area of interest in yoga for the shoulders, neck and spine and develops programs to help students learn how to anchor and elongate their spine to help release compression, improve posture and stabilize the body in a healthy postural alignment

Léah believes that yoga practice is accessible to people of all ages and levels of physical fitness and it is one of her missions as a teacher to share the benefits of yoga practice with as many people as possible and to bring a sense of light and creativity to our efforts to improve the quality of our mental, emotional and physical bodies.

              dare to be inspired…
